me & my journey with nutrition

Nutrition has always been a really touchy subject with me. I'll go through phases of eating everything I see in a day to barely even having one meal in a day. Beginning my fitness/nutrition journey has really made me realize that your gut health matters just as much as your own physical health & sometimes it really does seem like the key to getting that body physique you've been striving for. From drinking enough water to generally making sure I eat at least three meals a day is seriously a challenge for me. Lately, I have tried the Cirkul water bottle (the water bottle that flavors your drink with no extra additives/calories but I've found that the flavor only lasts 2-3 days if you drink as much as your supposed to so water intake isn't really my strong suit at all & being active & going to the gym six times a week, your side during a simple two mile run starts to hate you almost immediately & you can't help to think, "I need to drink more water." but when it comes down to it & you're at home watching Netflix you take the initiative to put some water in your glass & add in slices of lemon to spice it up a little but by the time the movie is over you realize that you only took about two sips.
I feel like when people think about fitness they just think about how those people just go to the gym & throw some weight on a machine & pump some reps.. at least that's what I thought & now the more I get into it, the more I realize that fitness is WAY more than just that. You have cutting & bulking & progressive overload, compound movements, rest days, remembering to stretch, & of course, nutrition. Sometimes it does get a little overbearing but then I remember why I started & I take it one step at a time. A crucial part in my fitness journey so far has been my support system through the days that I have no motivation to go to the gym & the days where it's 5PM & I haven't even ate or drank any water yet. I find that having a discussion about the obstacles that are in your way to reaching your goals has been the most effective way to pull my head out of my ass (sorry, not really) & just get to it.
getting to the point...
We all have setbacks & excuses for not doing the things we know is best for us. Mine just happens to be my own nutrition & for you it may be something completely different & not even have to do with nutrition at all- like simply getting out of bed each day. But the question you have to ask yourself is, would you rather look back at yourself in a year & have regret or satisfaction? throw yourself a pity party or reward yourself with a cheat day & indulge in that lava cake you've been craving? It's all about your own personal goals you set yourself & how badly you truly want to reach those goals. After all, your potential is only measured by you & what you're willing to put in.
